Channel Description:
Help! Contribute CS3 worked perfectly under Lion, but it does not even open under 10.8, Mountain Lion. The error I receive is: “No Document Types have been found. The application will exit now.” And, then the application quits.
I also have Dreamweaver CS6, PhotoShop CS3, Flash CS3 Pro, Illustrator CS3, and Acrobat 8 Pro. They are all working fine. I am running 10.8.1 on an iMac 27″ Quad core i7.
No.
Are you looking for an HTML sitemap (for users to view) or an XML sitemap (for search engines to crawl)?
If the former, you'll need to create one by hand. For the latter, there are many free tools that will crawl your site and create a sitemap.
Have used Contribute CS4 for years with no problem. Installed 10.8 and now Contribute won't open. Error message: No document types have been found..." It was uninstalled and reinstalled. Used the Adobe CS4 and Mac updater. Used the Mac's repair /verify utility. Safe mode started the Mac. Problem persists. My business depends a great deal on my website being updated and am frustrated.
This question has been asked previously, I see, with no answer. Is there an answer?
In our office, some users are on Contribute CS3 and others are on CS5. CS3 is having style rendering issues with nested lists (specifically, font sizes) when in Edit mode. This problem is not happening in CS5. The html is valid as well as the css. Is this a known bug in CS3? It is disconcerting to users to see the fonts rendered hugely on nested lists.
Can anyone tell me what the release date for Contribute CS6.5 was?
Hi Angela,
Adobe Contribute 6.5 got released. Please have a look at http://www.adobe.com/products/contribute.html for more information.
For more information on the features, http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/
Mountain LION is not a supported platform for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are Latest Adobe Contribute 6.5 and Adobe Contribute CS5.X.
Mountain LION is not a supported platform for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are Latest Adobe Contribute 6.5 and Adobe Contribute CS5.X.
Can you please try clearing the Contribute preferences once?
Refer the blog post http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/2011/11/launch-contribute-freshly-by -deleting-preferences.html for clearing the preferences.

Well fine. The article I had read on the website John Nack stated:
Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop® (CS3 and CS4) software were also tested with Mountain Lion and there are currently no known issues.
But of course that was followed by a list of hapless, unfortunate, empty-pocketed Contribute CS4 owners' complaints in roughly the same vein as mine. So Iwill read the entire forum as your e-mail to me suggested but then go out a spend yet more money.
Clearing the preferences has been tried on a couple of computers and it doesn't change this problem. This is happening on all of the computers that were upgraded to CS5, not just one.
If I change the role settings to allow users to "create a blank page", then they can "publish as new page". However, we want to restrict users to our templates so this is not an option that will work for us.
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I found that Contribute CS4 did not open. In searching for an answer I found the following on the Adobe forum:
"Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop (CS3 and CS4) software were also tested with Mountain Lion and there are currently no known issues."
So continuing to search, two days of frustration ensued as I "chatted" with 2 unhelpful Adobe customer support reps, searched unhelpful Apple and Adobe websites and posted my question in various places. Finally I found that the above statement was completely wrong when I received the following from an Adobe staffer:
Mountain LION is not a supported platform for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are Latest Adobe Contribute 6.5 and Adobe Contribute CS5.X.
And now I have to spend hundreds in order to maintain my website after upgrading to Mountain Lion. I don't even know to whom I should take my complaint, Apple or Adobe. Does this mean I have to research every piece of software I use before upgrading my Mac? At the very least, Mac owners should be forwarned of platform support failures for major 3rd party producers. I'm doing my bit here. How about you taking some responsibility?
"Earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop (CS3 and CS4) software were also tested with Mountain Lion and there are currently no known issues."
and
"Mountain LION is not a supported platform for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are Latest Adobe Contribute 6.5 and Adobe Contribute CS5.X."
Do not mean the same thing.
Adobe probably DID test and found no problems with their machines using their configurations but they can't cover every possible configuration out there so there's bound to be some instances (or many instances) where it won't work.
Hence the second quote saying it is not supported...
Restart your machine once and try installing Contribute.

I currently use dreamweaver to create all my websites. My client uses contribue to updated them. She can edit some pages, but then when she gets to other pages she gets this error:
“You can’t publish this draft because another user has removed your lock on the file. Select File>Actions>Publish as New Page to publish your draft with a different filename, or click Cancel to discard the draft.”
I can't figure it out, all the permissions are the same. Why is it happening in one folder and not another folder? And how can I get this fixed?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks Jacey

Try clearing the Contribute preferences. Refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/2011/11/launch-contribute-freshly-by -deleting-preferences.html
I am unable to open CS3. I receive the following box and then if I click ok contribute closes. I am running OSX on my mac. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Can you please let me know the version of Mac OS? If it is Mountain Lion 10.8, then it is not a supported platform for Adobe Contribute CS4. The supported versions are Latest Adobe Contribute 6.5 and Adobe Contribute CS5.X.
If it is any other version of Mac, try clearing the Contribute preference. Please refer to http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/2011/11/launch-contribute-freshly-by -deleting-preferences.html
