Not that I'm aware of. You could possibly roll back to the previous version if you have rollbacks enabled. If you do, you would go to File>Actions>Rollback to previous version.
Recently I have added another domain name under my local hosting service essentially for re-branding purposes. The page is an exact copy of the old and both are currently up and running. However, when opening contribute and connecting to my old url (as was already set up), it connects seemingly successfully yet when trying to edit it, nothing happens. Every type of editing within the menu bar is grayed out, and clicking 'edit page' yields no changes. The wysiwyg editor does not appear within the page I have opened on contribute. So I have a feeling that there is a pathway issue possibly for the old url, if anyone has any insight on the matter it would be much appreciated as I am a networking noob. Thanks!
Thank you for your answer. Not only did you save me from the cost of upgrading from Contribute CS5 to CS6.5 but you also saved me from going down the wrong path. I guess I will finally have to bite the bullet and SUBSCRIBE to CC....and thus try what the new Muse CC has to offer.
Muse may work for you. It isn't a CMS but rather a WYSIWYG editor which is good if you don't need to have control over what others can and can't do to the site nor care about code bloat. Let me know what you think if you decide to take that route.
So has anyone found a CMS or a WYSIWYG that works on a Contribute created website? I'd try Muse but don't like the code bloat comment Graffitti made.
I use Contribute 6.5 in Windows 10, and it works perfectly. I am going this year, nevertheless, to rebuild all my websites in Adobe Muse, as Contribute 6.5 does need several updates that likely are not forthcoming. It has been a very good software platform for me.
Since my last posting, we were able to get it to install on a machine running Windows 10. But since there will be no updates, if a Windows 10 update kills Contribute, you'll suddenly be left out in the cold with no support.
How do you add or extend a field in a persisting document using adobe DC
Which product are you using? Adobe DC can be many things.
Good question I am not sure
acrobat reader Obviously in need of much computer help
Ok. This is the forum for Adobe Contribute. I will give you a link to the Adobe Reader forum but I can tell you before you go that, you can't do that with Adobe Reader. You would need the full version of Adobe Acrobat at a minimum.

Calvin. I use Contribute 6.5 in Windows 10. It works well on all my pages of my website except two in which I get the message "you can't edit this page because another user is reviewing a draft of this page".
The other user is probably my old laptop which is not functioning. Is there a way to disconnect that "other else"?
Hello,
i've installed the new adobe contribute v6.5 but I'm not able to connect to my ftp server. When using ftp, the connection works but then timed out when retrieving the test file. When using sftp, i've got an straight Username/password error message. I was able to log on my ftp server using sftp via Winscp- i was able to copy/delete file onto the remote directory as well. I'm using the trial version, meaning that this is not looking good so far.
many thanks for your help

There are a couple of ways. If you are the Contribute administrator of the site, you can go to that page and at the top you will see that you can unlock the page. If you are not the administrator or cannot figure that out, you can visit the site using an FTP client (if live) or Windows Explorer (if a development server on your computer) and navigate to the folder that contains that page. In that folder, you will see a file with the name of the page and a file extension of .lck. That is the file that locks the page to editing. You can delete it and then will be able to edit.
- is there an upgrade available? Is there a cost?
That's not surprising since Contribute 4 was long gone by the time Windows 7 rolled around.
You can still get an upgrade to Contribute 6.5 from the Adobe site but keep in mind that Contribute itself was discontinued (although you can still buy it) a while back and does not receive any more updates.
I am a new photoshop user, and i have a student account. I have been going through some tutorials lately, and I see that they have access to the pen tool, whereas my pen tool is gray, and i cant use it. As of the day this comment is posted, I am totally 100% updated, and I am obviously using After Effects. I am running Windows 10, and I am still confused as to how to fix this. Please help me, and use this screen shot as a reference as to what I mean.
NEVER MIND! I realized I was on Footage, and not images. You are free to ignore this as you wish.
Glad you got it worked out.
In the future, if you have Photoshop questions, go here: Photoshop General Discussion
If you have After Effects, go here: After Effects
This forum is for Adobe Contribute.
Where does one find the JSObject definitions and a tutorial on using it.

We create websites using Dreamweaver, with a handful of clients editing in Contribute. Since moving to a Windows 2012 server, we have discovered that the first 5 or 10 page files in the sites have had their names automatically changed to upper case. example: about.asp to ABOUT.ASP Doesn't matter is if it .asp or .html. We never use upper case file names. Anyone else had this issue? Any clues why it is happening?

There is no setting that I am aware of in Contribute to cause that. The last time I saw that happening, it was a host server setting. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was. It was too long ago.

Clarification...this is only happening with sites edited in Contribute.

Are they working on the live site or are they working on a development server and pushing it out to a public server? If the latter, what is their workflow and what are they using to push the files?

They are working on the live site.

Ok yeah. I'm not sure. I would try and rule out that they are actually doing this (overwriting the old files). But first, I would talk to the server admin and make sure it isn't being caused there. But if that were it, I'm not sure how it would be limited to files that have been edited in Contribute. I assume they have been edited, correct? If not, then there's very little chance of Contribute being the culprit.
I have used Contribute for years but suddenly when I open the program all I see is the word 'contribute' in the top left corner but none of the other menu options appear. Can anyone suggest how I might get my old interface back!
Many thanks
Have you tried re-installing? What OS?
Is there any way to locate and republish an old draft to a page? The home page of our website was accidentally changed so that most information was deleted off and instead of redrafting the entire page, I would love to just undo the last couple of drafts that were published and restore our home page to it's original draft.
With Contribute you could probably do that if you have "rollbacks" enabled. Check File>Actions>Roll back to previous version.
If you didn't have rollbacks enabled, no rollbacks will be available. You may want to enable it for future issues.
My web person is adding these paypal 'Add To Cart' buttons (scroll down) Projects - WoodsShop but I'm wondering if I can do it myself in Contribute??
Forgot to say I'm using Cont 6.5, and Win 7 :-)
Oh I just found the Insert>Paypal Button. I need to try that out, I might have some questions!!
I have the same concern. I have implemented an 'organic CMS' using Dreamweaver, and Contribute as my controlled editing software/segment of the system. Honestly, all I would need to keep this a viable tool would be for Contribute 7.0 to have responsive rendering (use the media queries and display things properly in the WYSIWYG editor), and then for it to include SVG support.
Could someone from Adobe please respond or contact me? I have seen nothing from an official Adobe Rep, or developer, mentioning the intent to abandon or update Contribute. I understand it isn't any longer included in CC, but if the plan is going to be to abandon Contribute (1/2 of my CMS) then I will plan to abandon Dreamweaver.
Hi All. I'm hoping an Adobe Rep can help here. Is there any plan to update Adobe Contribute (perhaps a version 7.0) so that it will:
I am currently evaluating if using Adobe Contribute and Adobe Dreamweaver is still a viable option to continue using as my CMS. I have checked into Muse, but the lack of granular content section control makes in an inviable option for us. We are a somewhat large institutional website with around a half million visitors per year and around two-million page views per year.
If there is no plan to update with these features, then the value of this Dreamweaver/Contribute pair is completely diminished and we will plan to phase out of these Adobe products. Thanks so much.
Adobe Contribute is no longer being developed or supported. There will be no version 7.
I can't find it now (it was very old) but there was an Adobe blog entry a while back that said that it had been discontinued. There are no developers to speak to at Adobe so that would be a strong signal as well. Also, 2+ years with no patches would be another signal. Add all of that to the fact they they are throwing all of their resources into Muse and Business Catalyst and I think you have enough of an answer to make a decision whether to keep a Contribute/Dreamweaver workflow or not.
Hello, I'm looking to upgrade from Elements to Photoshop - my current Elements subscription's got a way to run. Haven't found how to upgrade/ swap yet.
Thanks,
Simon
I just started using the Trial version of 6.5 on my Mac OS X10.10.5 and some of the formatting doesn't work. Bold and Italic work as does Command U for underline. However I cannot format the Alignment. Nothing works except the default Align Left. Trying to align from the Format menu drop down doesn't work either as all the commands are grayed out.
Is this just because it's a trial version?
Thanks
Alan
Okay this is what I found out. It's not a trial version issue. If I open a new document all of the commands are available -- it's just in my existing files that a friend created in Dreamweaver that have the alignment functions grayed out.

Hello,
I recently installed Adobe Contribute CS4 on a user's Windows 7 PC. The installation completed successfully, no error messages were received. When the user tried to launch Contribute, they received an error message stating 'Could not locate the resources file in the configuration folder' and suggesting that I re-install Contribute. I did so, only to receive the same error message. I took a look at a previous thread on the support forum Need Help! "Could not locate the resource file in the Configuration folder." and after reading it I uninstalled Contribute CS4 and also found and removed Contribute CS3. After re-installing Contribute CS4 I still received the same error message. Continuing to follow suggestions from the above thread, I downloaded and ran both the CS3Clean and CS4Clean scripts to wipe all Adobe CS content from the PC. After re-installing Contribute CS4 again I received the same message. I then tried a thread from another support forum: Some Adobe CS4 application components are missing from the Directory - Software News and Discussion - WinMatrix while I could not implement the original solution from the thread (I can't and wouldn't download personal files from mediafire to a corporate PC) There was another suggestion at the bottom of the page which I did implement - using setup.exe to install another English language pack. This also failed to resolve the issue. I am unable to connect to live chat and phone support for this product has ended, so I am running out of options. I appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
Alex
When I click on Format > Style > Normal nothing happens. Also when I click on Format > Fonts > Edit Font list I get this window (see screen shot) after adding Helvetica but it's not available from the font drop down list.
Basically what I'm trying to do is make Helvetica my default font but I'm obviously doing something wrong.
Can anyone please help?
ThanksAlan
You may want to talk to your friend about this. Those areas could be being controlled by the sites CSS.
You are in the forum for Adobe Contribute.
That being said, Elements and Photoshop are two different apps. You can't "upgrade" from one to the other.
I am having the same issue. A friend created a template for me in Dreamweaver. I use Mac Pages so I copy my document and paste it into the template and all the alignment functions are grayed out. I also cannot use Command C or Command V (copy and paste) I have to use the ones from the Edit drop down list.
Anyone know why.
Alan
So what happens when YOU use Edit>Paste text only?
You need to be careful about regular copy/pasting from other applications (especially web-page development applications) because they tend to bring in their own styles and crappy code.
